At the start of this month, our YBI member in Bangladesh (Bangladesh Youth Enterprise Advice & Helpcentre – B’Yeah) held a three-day spectacular event to celebrate the success of the young entrepreneurs they have supported, and to raise awareness of the organization. From Saturday 4th to Monday 6th August, B’Yeah hosted the carnival-style event which featured a product exhibition fair made up of young entrepreneurs who have been supported to start and grow their businesses under B’Yeah’s Comic Relief funded ‘Turning Job Seekers into Job Creators’ program. The business owners made the most of the opportunity to showcase their products and sell these to the event participants, including many members of the public. Fifty young entrepreneurs took part in total across the three days. Additionally, there were some high profile speakers lined up for the opening and closing ceremonies. These included a representative from one of B’Yeah’s stakeholders, the SME Foundation, who through a partnership with microfinance organization MIDAS, are providing catalytic funds for start-up business owners to help them strengthen and scale their companies. B’Yeah was also honored that the Minister for Information for the Bangladeshi government sent his greetings to the young entrepreneurs and congratulated them on their success. A huge well did from YBI to everyone involved! Click here to view the B’Yeah organizational profile and read more about their services.
